Green Jiva uses supercritical CO2 extracts in its products, including amla oil, calendula oil and pomegranate seed oil.

CO2 extraction is tailored to achieve highly concentrated essential oils. This means we can let our hero ingredients speak for themselves without using over-complicated recipes or multitudes of unnecessary ingredients.

The pioneering process of supercritical CO2 extraction creates changes in carbon dioxide by using temperature and pressure. These changes create an environment which allows the ‘drop out’ of differing weights of components in plant material. This extraction process basically separates bioactive substances such as antioxidants, natural flavours and essential oils from plant materials.

Another huge benefit of the CO2 extraction process is that is creates a pure, clean, quality oil with little-to-no post-processing. Unlike other methods, extracts produced by way of the supercritical CO2 extraction process are free of solvent residues; supercritical CO2 is a fully recyclable solvent and hazardous solvent wastes are eliminated.
